The Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at the Golden Glades Multimodal Facility (GGMF) took place on Friday March 4th. This was a Design-Build project in which A&P Engineers (a CHA company) participated as the Lead Engineer of Record. The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) completed construction at the Golden Glades Park & Ride Center. A new and modern integrated Multimodal Transportation Facility was built to upgrade the existing facility. This project improved the connectivity between transportation modes, as well as increase transfer efficiency, accessibility, safety, security, and capacity. The facility includes the following transportation modes: South Florida Transportation Authority (SFRTA) Commuter Trains/Tri-Rail, MD Transit (MDT) Express and Local Buses, Broward County Transit (BCT) Express and Local Buses, Intercity Buses, Carpool Commuters, and Taxis and Ride Share Services. At the event we had opening remarks by FDOT District Six Secretary Stacy Miller, P.E., Miami-Dade County Commissioner District 2 Jean Monestime, Miami-Dade County DTPW and CEO Eulois Cleckley, Miami-Dade County Commissioner District 5 Eileen Higgins, and by South Florida Regional Transportation Authority Executive Director Steven Abrams.
