MIC Stormwater Management Master Plan
SCOPE OF WORK
The Miami Intermodal Center (MIC) is part of the Miami-Dade Transportation Improvement Program (1995) to improve the access to Miami International Airport (MIA). All these improvements will increase the transit system’s accessibility and reduce congestion on local roads.
The proposed improvements near the MIC will modify the existing drainage patterns. In response to this, the MIC Management Group (MMG) in coordination with FDOT District VI and MDX, developed a comprehensive drainage study evaluating the pre- and post-development drainage conditions of this area. The proposed drainage will also solve historical flooding problems in this area.
Our responsibilities included the preparation of Stormwater Management Master Plan for the entire MIC area. The Stormwater Management Master Plan included coordination with 5 design teams and several permitting agencies in order to design a drainage system consisting with of than 450 drainage structures and 18 retention ponds. This effort also included the preparation of permit packages approved by the SFWMD, DERM, USACOE, and FAA.
